Sri Lanka Holiday Tour -Ceylon's ancient civilisation stretches back for 2,500 years.  The islands first name was Taprobane given to it by the Greeks in the 4^th century BC.  It is one of the oldest cultures in the world and the well-preserved ancient cities are a testament to this.  Some date back to the 5^th century BC.  These historical ruins are very much part of the islands proud heritage. The varied influence of cultures.  Ceylon was a British Colony between 1815 and 1948 and this was a significant period in its history.  Tea became a very important crop during that time and still is.  In 1948 Ceylon gained its independence and in 1972 became a republic and changed its name to its present one.

The Boxing Day 2004 tsunami was a devastating blow to this small island.  Nevertheless it is striving to regain its confidence and to attract tourists back to its shores.  Only the coastline was affected by the tsunami so the interior was never closed to visitors although they did stay away.  There are vast areas of the coast that were missed by the tsunami and these are open for business and need your business.  The areas that were affected are rebuilding as fast as they can and should be up and running in the autumn of 2005.

We provide a high quality service to independent travellers both before you travel and in the country you are visiting.  Based on our experience we suggest itineraries and provide quotations for tours, hotels and sightseeing.  An Acceptance Payment is payable to us when you are happy with the proposed arrangements and accept the quotation.  The tour operator in your chosen country will make the arrangements and your contract will be with that operator.  For your financial protection payment for the tour will be in two installments directly to the operator.  The first payment will be by bank transfer or credit card eight weeks before departure.   The second will be on arrival at your destination by credit card or cash.

We have now decided to use our expertise to provide a Travel Consultancy service for  independent travellers by arranging tours direct with the Travel Operator in the country concerned. This enables the tour to be sold at a greatly reduced price but still maintaining the high standards we have always provided.
